A clear quote.
A confirmed plan.
What is agreed before your shoot, your payment and your final delivery. Policy version 2026-10-23-v3 · Updated October 26, 2026.
Your request and confirmation
A request starts our review of your brief and preferred date. Your shoot is confirmed only after our company confirms availability, your agreed scope, written booking terms and the required payment. Most shoots require full payment; the separately agreed wedding deposit schedule is described below.
Prices and coverage
General session rates, property packages and NYC travel are shown on our pricing pages. Travel is included within 20 miles of Totowa, NJ. Locations 20–30 miles away add $45 per visit, and New York State west of the Hudson (Rockland, Orange) adds $35. New York City and east of the Hudson (Westchester, Putnam) add $150 once per visit for travel, tolls and standard parking. Further locations, extra vehicles or exceptional parking are quoted and agreed before booking. Check your ZIP code → The written quote confirms the final amount, any applicable tax, editing, deliverables and agreed extras. Product, fashion, brand and complex productions receive a tailored quote.
Photography and video scope
Photography includes professionally edited images. As a guide, portrait, family and couple sessions deliver about 25–35 edited images per hour, events and celebrations about 40–60, and food shoots about 10–15 dishes or drinks per hour. Product shoots cover up to 15 final images per hour. RAW or unedited files are not included. Hourly video covers filming and original footage; editing add-ons are priced up front in the booking form. Published residential property video packages include the specified edited film, licensed music and one consolidated revision round. If our schedule allows, extra time on the day is billed at the same hourly rate in 30-minute steps, only with your approval. A second wedding photographer, drone footage or a second interview camera can be added on request and quoted before booking. Drone footage is flown by an FAA Part 107 certified pilot, where flying is allowed.
Payment before confirmation
For standard shoots booked online at the listed price, the full total is paid when you book, and your booking is confirmed once the payment goes through. For custom work, the full approved total is due after you accept your written quote and before your booking is confirmed. If no photographer can take the time you paid for, we offer you another time or a full refund. For weddings, a separately agreed 30% deposit holds your date and the balance is due 14 days before the wedding. The website’s standard checkout collects the approved total in one payment; it does not automatically manage a wedding deposit or remaining balance. Wedding payment arrangements must be confirmed in writing before payment. Applicable tax and agreed extras are shown in your final total. No percentage platform service fee is added.
Payments and refunds
Payments are final and non-refundable except where required by applicable law or where Book Your Shots approves a refund in writing following review. Cancelling an eligible booking early puts it on pause for later use; it does not create an automatic cash refund.
Pause or reschedule with more than 24 hours’ notice
Contact our company with your reference more than 24 hours before the scheduled start time. We can place a paid booking on pause, subject to written confirmation. It can be rescheduled to an available date within 4 months from the pause date. A paused booking left unused for 4 months expires and its payment is forfeited, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
Your first reschedule has no rescheduling fee when the notice requirement is met and the agreed scope stays the same. Later changes, or changes to duration, location, deliverables or scope, may require an additional quoted amount. We disclose that amount for your agreement and payment before confirming the change.
Within 24 hours, cancellations and no-shows
Cancellation, a change request received 24 hours or less before the scheduled start, failure to attend or failure to provide agreed access results in forfeiture of the booking payment, subject to applicable law or a written exception approved by our company.
Weather, service issues and company cancellations
Contact us promptly if weather affects the shoot, a service was not provided or our company cannot fulfil the booking. We review the circumstances and confirm rescheduling or an eligible refund in writing. Do not assume a replacement date or refund has been approved before you receive that confirmation.
How to request a change
Contact info@bookyourshots.com with your reference. Notice must be received by our company. All booking times and notice periods use America/New_York. Closing a checkout window does not cancel an already paid booking.
Getting ready for the shoot
We agree the location, access, schedule and production requirements in advance. Properties, products and participants should be ready for the agreed session. Extra time, styling, location permissions, props, models or other changes require an agreed scope and price.
Delivery, revisions and usage
Typical delivery after the shoot: Photos: 3–5 business days. Reels: 5–7 business days. Business films: 7–10 business days. Wedding teaser: 7–10 days; wedding highlight film: 3–4 weeks; feature film: 4–6 weeks. Delivery is digital only; prints, albums and USB drives are not included. Files are delivered through a private download link that stays active for 30 days; please keep your own backup. Each video edit includes one revision round; additional rounds are $49 each. You may use your files for personal and commercial purposes, including paid ads (see who owns the photos). We may share selected photos and videos from your shoot on our website and social media (such as Instagram, TikTok and Facebook), unless you ask us to keep your shoot private. You can choose "Keep my shoot private" when you book, or tell us any time before we post. Our photographers may not post your photos or videos anywhere.
Reviews
After your shoot you can rate your photographer and leave a comment. We publish reviews whether they are positive or negative, and we never remove a review because of its rating. We only hide a review if it uses offensive, hateful or abusive language, shares someone’s private or personal details, is fake or malicious (it doesn’t describe a real experience with the booking), or isn’t about the shoot or our service. Photographer profiles may also show selected reviews from a photographer’s past clients before Book Your Shots; those are labeled as such. Questions about a review: info@bookyourshots.com.
Who owns the photos and videos
Book Your Shots owns the copyright in the photos and videos from your shoot. Once your booking is paid, you have a permanent, worldwide license to use your delivered files for personal and commercial purposes, including your website, social media, print and paid ads. You may edit and crop them. You may not resell them as stock or license them to others as your own work.
People, places and permissions
You are responsible for permission to shoot at the location you choose and for the consent of the people you ask us to photograph, including guests and staff. If you plan to use photos of other people in advertising, get their written permission. A parent or guardian must book and be present for shoots of children under 18.
Files and equipment
We keep a backup of your files until your download link expires. If files are lost or damaged before delivery because of an equipment or storage failure, we will offer a free reshoot of the affected part or a refund of the part of the price that covers it. Please keep your own copy once you download.
Limits of our responsibility
To the extent the law allows, our total responsibility for any claim about a booking is limited to the amount you paid for that booking, and we are not responsible for indirect or consequential losses such as lost profits or lost business. Nothing here limits rights you have under New Jersey consumer law that cannot be limited.
Events beyond our control
We are not responsible for delays or cancellations caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as severe weather, natural disasters, road closures, power or internet outages, illness or emergencies. In those cases we will reschedule your booking or, if that is not possible, refund the unused part.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey. If something goes wrong, email info@bookyourshots.com with your reference first; we will try to resolve it within 30 days. If we can't, either of us may bring the matter in small claims court or in the state courts of Passaic County, New Jersey.
