Your details.
A clear purpose.
How this website currently uses information for enquiries and booking requests. Updated October 25, 2026.
Information you provide
A booking request may include your name, email, phone number, company, shoot location, requested schedule and production brief. Product counts, property area and requested deliverables help us prepare an accurate quote.
Why we use it
We use these details to review your enquiry, prepare a quote, contact you about the request and coordinate the agreed production. Do not include card numbers, passwords or unrelated sensitive information in your brief.
Drafts and booking records
Unsubmitted booking drafts are saved in this browser tab using session storage. The Clear draft button removes that booking draft. Submitted requests are kept in the booking records for review and follow-up. Clearing your browser draft does not delete an already submitted request.
Booking notifications and studio access
The booking service is configured to use Hostinger Mail for booking notifications and approved quotes when email delivery is enabled. When enabled, studio access uses a one-time email sign-in code and a protected session cookie that expires after eight hours. Quote emails include a private request link valid for 30 days; keep it private because it provides access to your request. We do not use these service messages for marketing.
Customer accounts
Creating an account is optional; you can book without one. An account stores your name, email, username, whether you want step-by-step booking emails, and when you created it and last logged in. You can also add your birthday (month and day only, no year) so we can send you a birthday email once a year; it is optional, you can remove it or turn birthday emails off in your Profile at any time, and we use it for nothing else. You log in with a one-time link sent to your email, which expires after 15 minutes. You can also continue with Google. In that case Google shares your name, email address and a Google account ID with us so we can create or find your account; we do not receive your Google password or access your other Google data. A login keeps a protected session cookie on your device for up to 30 days, plus a small cookie that only tells the website you may be logged in. Your account shows the bookings made with the same email address, their progress steps, studio notes and download links. You can change your details or delete your account from the Profile tab. Deleting the account removes your login, but booking records stay with Book Your Shots as described below.
Payments
This website does not currently accept online payments and does not collect or store card numbers. When payment is activated, card details will be entered with the payment provider identified at checkout. Its privacy information will be available there.
Images, fonts and website storage
Images are hosted on this website. Fonts load from Google Fonts, so your browser connects to that service to display them. The website uses session storage for booking drafts and private request access, and login cookies only if you use an account. To see how the site is used, we count page visits, the site a visit came from (for example Google or Instagram), the type of device, the approximate city, state and country of the visit and how far a booking gets, without cookies and without storing your IP address. The approximate place is looked up on our own server from a free database (IP geolocation by DB-IP), so your address is not sent to anyone for this; the visitor code we use changes every day, so visits cannot be followed from one day to the next.
Advertising measurement and your privacy choices
When we run ads on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and Google, public pages of this website may load the Meta Pixel from Meta Platforms, the TikTok Pixel from TikTok and the Google tag from Google. They tell Meta, TikTok or Google that someone who saw our ad visited a page, opened the booking form or sent a booking request, so we can see which ads work and show them to similar people. Meta, TikTok and Google may use cookies and receive your browser details and IP address for this; their own privacy policies apply to what they do with that data. We do not send your name, email, phone number, address or booking details to Meta, TikTok or Google, and the pixels never load on account, payment or studio pages. We also use Google Analytics on public pages to see how the site is used (pages viewed, scrolling, links clicked and when a booking request is sent); it may use cookies, receives the same kind of browser details, and is turned off by the same choice below.
Under the New Jersey Data Privacy Act you can opt out of this targeted advertising. Use the button below on each browser you use, or turn on Global Privacy Control in your browser, which we treat as an opt-out automatically.
Your photographer
When a photographer is booked for your shoot, we email you their first name and last initial, their profile photo, their rating and number of shoots, and a short line from their profile, so you know who is coming. Your phone number, email and address are only shared with the photographer booked for your job, and messages go through your booking page.
Google Calendar for photographers
Photographers in our network can choose to connect their Google Calendar from their dashboard. If they do, we ask Google for two permissions only: to see when they are free or busy (calendar.freebusy), and to create, change and delete the events we add to calendars they own (calendar.events.owned). We use free/busy times only to decide which available photographers receive a job offer first, and we never see the titles, details or guests of their other events. We use event access only to add each shoot they accept to their calendar (date, time, address, booking reference and a link to their dashboard) and to update or remove it when the booking changes. We store the Google access token encrypted at rest on our server only while the calendar is connected; disconnecting in the dashboard deletes it, and access can also be removed at any time in the Google Account under Security > Third-party connections. We do not sell this data, use it for advertising, share it with anyone else, or use it to train AI models, and no person reads it except to fix a problem the photographer asks us about. Book Your Shots’ use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Clients and photographers who do not connect a calendar can add a booked shoot from the confirmation email with an “Add to calendar” link; that opens their own calendar app and shares nothing with us.
Retention and requests about your data
Booking enquiries, delivered media and billing records serve different purposes and need separate retention rules. A 30-day download link is an access period; it is not a promise that all copies or booking records are deleted after 30 days. For enquiries and price requests that do not become bookings, our retention period is six months from the last contact. After that period, we review the records for deletion, unless an unresolved dispute or legal obligation requires us to keep them longer. Confirmed bookings, financial records and delivered media have separate retention requirements. This does not mean that records are automatically deleted by the website. Contact us to ask about your submitted information, request a correction or discuss deletion. We will review what records and obligations apply to your request.
Access and service providers
Authorised studio personnel use request details to handle your enquiry and production. When enabled, hosting, email, payment and file-delivery providers process the information needed for their part of the service. Contact us before submitting files or details you consider confidential.
